Good Old Days! Rothermere House, 1994, Memorial University.

The thing that I remember from this picture is that this was the 3rd try in 2 semesters for having a house picture taken.. Ours was the only Residence left that had no picture to add on the wall for the year 1993/94, as each time they would take a picture, someone would have their middle finger up, and according to the university regulations, that picture is unacceptable to go on any residence's wall. Finally after much coordination every one tried to keep their middle fingers down this time and finally history recorded us as the proud rothermereans for the year 1993/94. This was my First year in the University and it is this Rothermere house where I made my best friends ever. Little history about the house: Rothermere House is named after the 1^st Honourable Viscount Rothermere of Hemstead. The 1st Lord Rothermere was the first Chancellor of Memorial University and the benefactor who provided the funds to construct Rothermere House, Memorial’s first Co-ed residence.

.......After a while u learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul, and you learn that love doesn't mean possession and company doesn't mean security, and you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises, and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child, and you learn to do things today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans, and futures have ways of falling down in mid-flight. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much, so plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure, that you really are strong, and you really At some point in your life you will lose someone you love. Sometimes loving that someone means letting go, and love doesn't have to die just because the relationship has died. Sometimes, letting go isn't the end of the world, but the beginning of a new one. For everything you have done in life there is a lesson. We learn from our lessons to better understand how we shall handle issues and situations in the future. We handle issues and problems the best way we know how at that very moment. As we embark through all the different stages in our lives, we will see things in different ways. Through a child’s eyes, a rainbow might mean a slide sprinkled with glitter for which to slide down as the clouds cushion their fall. Through a teenager’s eyes, a rainbow might mean a magical place where they can kiss their boyfriend/girlfriend wrapped under blankets of clouds. Through an adult’s eyes, a rainbow might mean a pot of gold on the other side. Through grandpa’s/grandma’s eyes, a rainbow might signify heaven and all their loved ones who have passed. So, if you could have corrected all your mistakes then, would you still correct them the same way today?
